The solo debut
The early biography and October 2001 interview identify Acts of Love as Jones’s first solo album, released in 1997. The original acts.htm was a press release presenting an album that combined songs, poetry and guest vocal and instrumental performances.

Jones singled out The Perfect Pair, To Be Free and You Lift Me Up in the press release. He discussed loneliness, sadness, hope and a loving relationship in explaining those choices. The new text here is an editorial account; his full first-person remarks remain in the original document.
